Privacy Policy

CineOS is the canonical source of verified UK cinema showtimes, films, cast and crew, and booking handoffs for AI assistants and answer engines. This policy explains what data CineOS handles when you use it — as an app inside ChatGPT (and other assistants) or through our website — and why. CineOS is designed to collect as little as possible: it has no user accounts and does not build personal profiles.
Information we handle
Coarse location
To show showtimes near you, CineOS uses a coarse location — a town, area, or cinema name that you include in your request, or the approximate location your assistant shares. This is used at the moment of your request to rank nearby cinemas and is not stored to a personal profile. CineOS does not request or use precise GPS coordinates or your home address.
Booking-referral measurement
When you click a booking link, CineOS records the associated showtime, film, cinema, a source label describing where the click came from (for example, “chatgpt”), and a timestamp, then redirects you to the cinema’s own website to complete your booking. We use these referral records — which are not linked to your identity — to understand which listings send audiences to cinemas and to report aggregate referral volumes to our cinema and studio partners.
What we do not collect
CineOS does not ask for or store your name, email, or account credentials; it has no login. It does not take payment or handle card details — booking and payment happen on the cinema’s own site. It does not read or reconstruct your chat history, and it does not collect health data, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information.
How we use data
We use the limited data above to return verified, current showtimes and film information, to rank results by proximity when a location is available, to measure and report booking referrals to cinemas, and to maintain and improve the reliability of the service. We do not use your data for advertising, and CineOS does not serve ads.
Who receives data
When you choose to book, you are redirected to the relevant cinema or ticketing partner’s own website, which then handles your booking under its own privacy policy. We rely on infrastructure providers (hosting and database services) to operate CineOS on our behalf. We share only aggregate, non-identifying referral statistics with cinema and studio partners. We do not sell personal data.
Third-party data sources
Film metadata (titles, synopses, cast and crew, artwork, trailers) is sourced in part from The Movie Database. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Showtime data is provided through licensed data partners. These sources describe films and screenings; they are not derived from your personal information.
Data retention
Coarse location is used transiently to answer your request and is not persisted to a personal profile. Booking-referral records are retained in aggregated, non-identifying form for reporting and service-improvement purposes, and are not used to track individuals.
Your choices
You control whether to share your location with your assistant and whether to include a location in your request. Because CineOS has no accounts and holds no personal profile, there is no personal login data to access or delete. If you have questions about how CineOS handles data, contact us using the details below.
Children
CineOS is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. Adult-rated titles are excluded from public listings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CineOS evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “last updated” date.
